Chisom is a data and analytics professional with over 6 years of experience and a strong passion for democratizing data knowledge through education and mentorship. She transitioned from a degree in Nursing Sciences into a thriving career in data, defying the traditional career path and demonstrating her ability to break professional boundaries and reinvent herself.
This personal experience fuels her commitment to lowering the barrier to entry for others. Through her work with global edtech companies and international organizations, she has helped thousands of people begin and grow successful careers in tech.
Her professional background spans analytics engineering, currently at Database Tycoon, and consulting, formerly at Brooklyn Data. In 2019, less than a year into her data career, she won her first data hackathon, highlighting her early talent and drive. Over the years, she has developed and taught data courses, including SQL, for the data science faculties of edtechs such as Utiva.
Known for her ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and relatable way, she has earned affectionate nicknames like “SQL Queen” and “SQL Veteran” from her students. She is a two-time award winner, the Connected Award (2023) and the Digital Transformation Award (2024), and has partnered with platforms like Utiva and Talstack to train over 3,000 students
globally in data skills such as SQL and Business Intelligence.
Chisom is also the Founder of the Technology Careers Community (TCC), a community focused on helping people start and grow their careers in tech while increasing their earning power. She hosts the TCC Series, a podcast featuring real people and real stories of professionals who have broken the glass ceiling in tech. Through her platforms, she regularly shares interview tips, career insights, and practical guidance for navigating the tech industry.
